I love this photo. Sort of overcast and gloomy, yet still beautiful and lovely. It reminds me of the feeling I get when I listen to some of my favorite songs.
You know how some people love listening to peppy, bright, happy music? I am just not one of those people. I enjoy a good pop mix when I’m at the gym, but for my day-to-day listening I will always choose something mellow/calm/sad over something energetic. There’s nothing better than a silky, smooth song to envelope you in strong feelings and emotions.
What other people might see as depressing, I see as being truly lovely.
Here are a few of my favorites: (Perfect for listening to on a gloomy day, curled up in bed.)
Lana Del Ray, Video Games:
Bon Iver, Michicant:
Death Cab for Cutie, The Ice is Getting Thinner:
The Civil Wars, To Whom It May Concern:
Ray LaMontagne, Let It Be Me:

I love that you mentioned Lana Del Rey! I would suggest you give “Million Dollar Man” and “National Anthem” a try! Awesome songs. I personally just love her voice.
